A quintet against 5 billion foes
And even then it’s never close
From their pathetic pleas to their dying screams
Dust to dust then dust to nothingness (or just nothing)
Absu's Talons devour all the light
Powered by deaths of stars
They hunt life through endless night
Her dragon's claws, her icy breath
Prostrate before her
Postpone your coming death
If this fleet exists it’s no longer known
The stars they guard are no more
The life they gave couldn’t keep them safe
We soar on, devouring
Endless Night
Endless night
Their lives were made for ending,
The talons made their stars as weak.
Away and toward the last light
The final battle is in sight
This star we terminate
The end is drawing nigh
show us the way.
O' Serpent of the Void
They've launched their fighters
To defend themselves they fly
Scramble the Talons
Fly to die. Aces high

This album being played over the PA system at the museum where Salvador Dali's "The Persistence of Memory" is housed is what caused the faces of the clocks in the painting to melt. meeko

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74
These California up-and-comers don't merely pay tribute to ’90s death metal; they make it their own by taking charge and letting it rip. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 21, 2024
